There’s something about holding a photograph in your hands that just feels different.
Growing up, my mom always had a camera nearby. Back then, everything was shot on film, which meant every image was chosen with intention. We would wait for rolls to be developed, flip through prints together, and slowly fill albums that told the story of our lives.
She spent years creating scrapbooks for our family—entire volumes that documented my childhood from the very beginning.
Now, as an adult, I have those albums.
They hold my story from birth through my teenage years.
They are, without question, some of my most meaningful possessions. If I had to leave my home in a moment, they would be one of the first things I’d reach for. Because there is no replacing them.
That experience shaped the way I see photographs—and it’s a big part of why this work means so much to me.
But the path that led me here didn’t happen all at once.

I'm tessa
I’m a Dallas-based photographer, wife to my husband Jeffery, dog mom to Senna, and cat mom to Roman.
Before starting this business, I had the honor of nannying for several incredible families. I was invited into the everyday rhythms of their lives, the quiet, in-between moments that most people don’t see. That time gave me such a deep appreciation for how much mothers carry, often unseen, and how quickly those early years pass.
Photography has always been part of my life. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Art Institute of Dallas, where I developed a strong foundation in light, composition, and storytelling.
Looking back, I can see how God took me on the scenic route to get here—first through earning my degree, then through years of working closely with babies, children, and families, before leading me into this work.
After years of putting it off, I felt a clear pull from God to step into this and create something of my own. What started as a step of faith has become something much deeper.
This work is my way of serving—serving families, serving the Lord, and being a light while preserving the joy He has given.
